How to Further Your Impact Before the New Year

Family Promise of Morris County is committed to helping our most vulnerable neighbors every day. Without your support, keeping our promise wouldn’t be possible.

As we near the end of 2021, we’d like to reflect on what we’ve accomplished throughout the year with your support.

New Housing Programs to Create & Ensure Housing Stability

Promising Solutions (PS)

  • Partnership with Homeless Solutions and Morris Habitat for Humanity

  • Provides safe, shared, affordable housing for up to 32 single women experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity

  • 20+ women are currently housed by PS

Rapid Rehousing & Diversion (RRH)

  • Moves families and individuals experiencing homelessness and housing instability into safe, stable housing as quickly as possible

  • Helps lessen the load of our shelter system by helping families and individuals avoid shelter entirely

  • Decreases risk of COVID-19 contraction

  • Encourages partnerships with local landlords through incentives and mediation support

Increased Outreach Efforts

Since the pandemic’s start, there has been a 400% increase in need for outreach services from newly impacted populations. This includes those experiencing economic hardship and situational poverty due to unemployment, underemployment, reduced hours, and/or poor health due to COVID-19.

We are working hard to mitigate this crisis and are fully committed to improving Morris County’s overall housing, health, and economic outcomes.

Through enhanced outreach efforts, we have…

  • Addressed raised risks of housing instability within our community through eviction prevention, mental health, domestic violence, and housing stabilization services

  • Made over 5,000 face-to-face contacts & provided over 1,500 services/referrals through Navigating Hope mobile outreach unit

  • Served more than 1,600 clients through Our Promise Drop-in Center
