ACTS OF COMPASSION HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE LIVES

Discover the wide range of volunteer opportunities at Family Promise of Morris County. We offer individual, group, corporate, and family volunteering opportunities. These may be long-term, short-term, and one-off activities, and can even include child- and pet-friendly efforts.

 

Volunteers play an essential role in helping families and individuals experiencing homelessness obtain sustainable independence.

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

Every day, we connect people who want to help with opportunities to make a difference. Our volunteers give their time, talent and treasure in so many ways to help families and individuals in our community become independent once again.

You don’t need to donate thousands of dollars or hundreds of hours of service to make a real difference. In fact, a few hours of volunteering can work wonders! Basic kindness can change bad days to good ones and can even transform lives.

​

Family Promise offers many meaningful opportunities for volunteers. Here are some ways you can help us. We hope you’ll join our network of caring friends!

Spread the word:

  • Invite a speaker from Family Promise of Morris County to your community group or congregation to learn more about our programs and the crisis of homelessness

  • Talk to your fellow community group members or congregants about opportunities for service

  • Talk to your clergy about joining our network of Morris County congregations as a partner congregation
     

Volunteer:​

  • Host a donation drive for essential Wish List items

  • Assemble essential kits such as Beat the Heat, Winter Care, or Brown Bag Breakfasts based on current needs and the season.

  • Participate in a Done-in-a-Day service project, like gardening, organizing donations, or enhancing our facilities.

  • Join our team of on-call volunteers for opportunities such as making deliveries to clients or assisting with administrative projects.

  • Represent Family Promise at local events to help promote our programs and community initiatives.

  • Support families and individuals as they transition from shelter to permanent housing.
